What is Pedodontics (Pediatric Dentistry)?
The Pedodontics branch of dentistry works on the protection and treatment of milk and primary teeth, starting from the moment of human birth until the age of 15, when all the milk teeth change and the primary teeth that grow after the milk teeth complete their development.
Fear of Dentist in Children (Dental Phobia)
It turns all children’s dental treatments such as dental fillings, root canal treatments, tooth extractions into a fun and peaceful experience.
About Pediatric Dental Health
Children can stay away from dental caries with a healthy diet and proper tooth brushing. If a child develops a cavity in one of his/her teeth, he/she should be followed up by a dentist to ensure that it does not spread to other teeth. When children are young, they should be taken to the dentist or dental clinic to help them get used to it. Parents should also increase their knowledge about dental health for their children.
A child has 20 milk teeth in his/her mouth. As we all know, these baby teeth are there to help the child eat. However, milk teeth are also important for the child’s speech. Pediatric dentistry is important for predicting and diagnosing future problems. In a sense, this is also called “preventive dentistry”.
When the Baby’s Teeth Start to Grow
Do not put the baby to sleep by breastfeeding.
Clean the baby’s teeth with a wet cloth and then invest in sleep.
Never put the baby to sleep with a bottle of milk with added sugar.
Do not force the baby to finish the bottle. It will cause the baby to vomit.
Do not put the bottle in your mouth to check the temperature.
Fruit juices that you put in a bottle are beneficial. However, it can cause tooth decay if given too often.
Try to abandon the bottle when the baby is 1 year old. We get them used to drinking liquid food from a glass.
