Amalgam and composite fillings are applied according to the indication to provide the patient with the necessary aesthetics and functionality. The choice is made depending on the condition of the tooth, the aesthetic requirement and the force the tooth receives. Both filling materials have advantages and disadvantages. While composite fillings are finished in the same session, polishing of amalgam fillings is done 24 hours later. However, composite fillings may change color over time.
After the application of both materials;
* If anesthesia has been applied, you should not eat or drink anything until the feeling of numbness passes.
* If there are early contacts when biting or chewing movements, contact your doctor again.
* It is natural to feel cold and heat sensitivity for the first few weeks after filling. The deeper the cavity, the longer the period of sensitivity may be.
* If there is sensitivity in the new filling lasting longer than three weeks, contact your doctor.
